In addition to my last post, this song can be considered 'old' in the time of my writing this, but then I am a teenager. This song speaks of what I believe is Scottish independence (last verse) and Scottish nationalism.

It was written by Ronnie Browne of The Corries and was around while Roy Williamson was still alive, so I suppose it is kind of old. I don't know the year exactly, but I see it as an old song.

There are a few covers on Youtube and one excellent version is by the folk group North Sea Gas, so yes it is still sung. This song is also a pipe tune now; I heard it by coincidence and was pretty pleased, albeit it doesn't sound exactly the same.
