I was at a picking session some years back (1982) when J P Fraley and Thornton Spencer did this with two fiddles, no vocal. J P Fraley played the tune commonly known as Home Sweet Home while Thornton Thornton Spencer fiddled "Silver Bells". The rest of the pickers just went through the chords. I got it on tape too.
