Thread Name: Chords Req: Ragged But Right
Subject: Lyr Add: RAGGED BUT RIGHT (from Buddy Jones)
You can hear this on YouTube. My transcription. I have boldfaced the words that are different from Riley Puckett’s.

RAGGED BUT RIGHT
As recorded by Buddy Jones, on Decca 5476, 1937.

[A] I come here to tell you boys I'm ragged but I’m right.
Thief and a gambler, I get drunk ev'ry night.
A porterhouse steak three times a day for my board.
That's more than any loafer/rounder* in this house can afford.
Big 'lectric fan to keep me cool while I sleep,
A little baby girl to play around at my feet.
I'm a ramblin’ gambler; I lead ev'ry life(?).
I tell you boys, I'm ragged but I’m right.

[B] When I get married, I’m gonna settle down.
Gonna build a love nest right here in your town.
I’m gonna get me a gal, the one that I love,
And we’ll be as happy as two turtle-doves.

[Repeat A]

I tell you boys, I'm ragged but I’m right.

* He changes the word on the repeat.
The tune for ‘B’ is the same as the first half of ‘A’. It is not the same as Riley Puckett’s B part.
