I took PPIs for years. Has to stop when I started having chronic diarrhea. If it were all new to me, I think I'd take the PPIs, but stop them for a while every now and then. I don't know if that would be effective. I take Zantac (Ranitidine) now, but I seem to have less heartburn than I used to.
