Last year, my first year of SS eligibilty, I had Blue Cross supplemental ($160 per month) and SilverScript for drugs ($29 per month). It worked out fine with minimal out of pocket. This year I'm trying a Humana Advantage plan with a zero dollar premium and it includes a drug plan and Silver Sneakers which pays for my monthly gym fee ($50) and it seems to cover most of what the Blue Cross plan did. I was pretty healthy last year so I'm switching up to try and save a few bucks. Of course, you might want to talk to a broker who carries various coverages and will steer you towards a policy that will work for you and your situation.
