Pets do make great photo subjects, especially if your children are grown and you don't have grandchildren yet. :)

I have photographed and made a few videos - the short videos are of repeat offenses, generally, predictable events so I can get the phone or camera out in time. No gopro or any pricey equipment around the dogs, especially back when my late pit bull was here. She would give something a chomp and it stayed chomped, though I remember the occasion when I dropped my phone in its case in the back yard. Fearing the worst, I hurried back out to search and found her carrying it very delicately, and her expression was so sweet.
