Last night I sampled the opening scenes very quietly - wife upstairs asleep..
depth charges might have disturbed her...

Looked good enough until an abrupt cut to female characters on dry land...

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.....

But recently there have been some potentially excellent war movies
undermined by cross cutting from brutal war scenes
to distracting women back at home sentimental domestic melodrama...

That ruins the focus, intensity, and momentum of the basic war is hell drama...
