Re sanding off finishes, I played at a regular bluegrass jam back in the late'80's-early '90's and some of the guys took to sanding off the top, back and sides of their old Martins and then applying sanding sealer and it really opened up the sound as I recall. I was playing a fairly new D-28H and didn't have the heart to take a sander to it, especially not in the Florida humidity.
