There was an interesting incident yesterday in the Council Chambers of Norfolk County Council.
A group of protesters entered (about ten people), stood in front of the Chair and sang a song over and over for FOUR HOURS!

The song was about the Council's proposal to extend the ever-expanding road system around Norwich by building a capillary road right across the protected Wensum Valley. It had even been suggested that a viaduct be constructed to take this blooming road!

Their objection was against the increasing traffic, emissions, pollution and spoiling the environment.
They sang about global warming and the uncaring attitude of developers.
After four hours, the Council called the Police, who gently persuaded the people to leave. I think about four were arrested.

I was proud of them. The Council had designed four routes from which to choose, and one of them would pass not far from our village!

The Northern Distributor (already completed) has covered this area in concrete, yet every time we pass, there's hardly a single car using it.
Waste of time, money and beautiful unspoilt countryside.
