The Mudcat is the poorer for the loss of reasoned people backing off. It is impossible not to react when people direct their comments to you personally there is a better way, `address the issue not the person`. Sen did this admirably. It is incumbent on the sender more than the receiver to think how others may interpret your words. Or admit you have not thought it through, enough. But sometimes ego prevents ownership of your own functioning of your brain. I think the word I am hovering over is empathy!
