Thread Name: Jugular Vein (1960s trio, South London)
Subject: RE: Jugular Vein (1960s trio, South London)
a late arrival. Only found this today, because last night I heard a song about the Champs-Elysee and recognised it as a lift from "Waterloo Road" which I'd remembered Lionel Morton recording and Jugular Vein playing on their trips to Folk at The Chequers in Horley, where I was a resident. This thread revived loads of memories, so thanks.

Remember agreeing with JV that The Nag's Head in Battersea was the only place in the country where you had to shut the windows for fresh air - there was an adjacent gin factory. I went there in 1968 during its life as "The Blue Horizon Club", to see Fleetwood Mac, Duster Bennett and Gordon Smith.

Good to see you posts Will Fly in all these years, I hadn't known so much of your back story.

I remember The Four Pennies on Thank Your Lucky Stars, also performing Leadbelly's "Black girl"

Happy days
