Hiya John - good to see you here! I was over at the Charlwood singaround a couple of days ago - now at "The Charlwood" (ex-"Greyhound"). A good night, packed with musicians - Martin Wyndham-Read and Iris Bishop, among others, and both Colin and Sue Gates in fine form.

Lots of jug-type bands around in London in the late '60s and early '70s. The outfit I was in was called "The Egbert Sousé All Stars", and varied, depending on who turned up, from between 4 and 8 players! Sitters-in who popped in from time to time included Diz Disley and Bob Kerr, and our residency was the Redan, on the corner of Queensway and Westbourne Grove. One of the first floor flats on the block across the road was the home of John Mayall, and we often used to see him lowering gear down from the balcony down to the Ford Transit parked on the corner.

Enough - I shall be dribbling into my Wincarnis next...
