Subject: Folklore: Song Workshop - Port Jackson - 1970
I spent today in the National Library of Australia listening to some Colin Dryden recordings. Some fabulous content recorded by Mike Eves.

However, while listening to a separate recording of Colin Hosting a song workshop at the 1970 National Folk Festival in Port Jackson, I was struck by another song about 60 minutes into the recording (I don't think it is Colin singing).

The sound quality is not great, so I was hoping someone here might be able to place the song and the singer.

Before the song I can make out 'welcome Karl and Jennny ?? to the stage from Melbourne'. The preamble given by the singer indicates that it is about an Irish outlaw called Edmund from 1688, somehow connected to William of Orange.

The song is in Gaelic and the tune bears some similarity to 'Jock Stewart'.

Content is available in person at the library here.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel,
