My observation is the benefit & the far more serious bugbear is the speed of communication.
If you slowed it down, the Putins of this world would not find such a handy propaganda conduit. But on the benefit side of connecting people it would barely register as a hindrance, and serve to assist in scrutinising just a soupçon.

However, referring to it as Fakebook could only serve to remind people how it dis-serves humanity.
