UK cities - I've lived in Leeds, Bradford, Bristol, and London..

I walked or cycled anywhere I needed to go in all* but London.
Obviously the Tube and night busses were essential
because the outskirts were only where I could afford to live.
But in the centre I walked.
Back then I stayed fit and healthy...

[*In Leeds I only needed a bus to get across the city to work and back...]

I'm now fat with reduced mobility due to arthritic feet and knees,
but still walk as much as possible in our medium sized town.

Private cars should for the most part be banned from city and town centres...
Apart from special needs and emergencies...
