Mrrzy, if a Caesar salad has to have anchovies then I am never eating a CS again, but I will be eating my CS-inspired salad lots.

So many times I have read or seen on TV about chefs saying that the anchovies are essential and that you won't know it is there but it will make the salad dressing taste great. These chefs are obviously lovers of seafood and have possibly never conducted a blind taste test on non seafood eaters because I can tell there is anchovy from the first taste, and unfortunately that fishy, cheap day-old, catfood-in-a-can smell just stays with me for hours. Totally yuk!
