I find it interesting for several reasons. The main writer/ creator, Chuck Lorre, is the guy behind the show "Two and a Half Men" which I find mean-spirited and misogynistic. BBT is a far superior and for me watchable show which induces some respect for intelligence and science, although it still makes a lot of humor out of stereotypes. For instance, it makes anti-semitic and anti-Asian (Indian) jokes at the same time making the observations that it has made anti-semitic and anti-Asian jokes. This is called having your cake and eating it too. So one has to sort of admire Chuck Lorre for getting away with that.

On the whole it's been a good show.

I heartily recommend the current spin-off "Young Sheldon" which has been superbly cast, written, and acted. It is a funny and warm hearted show as few others are.
