Thread Name: Lyr Req: Cold Icy Floor
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Cold Icy Floor
This is one of my personal favorite albums. I particularly love "Cold Icy Floor," but I'm puzzled by the word "donny." That's as far as I know I male name, but that doesn't work here: "My donny went to Mobile and I told her not to go" wouldn't make sense. What I hear is "doney" with a long 'O.' Someone (sorry, I can't remember who) told me that's a word for "sweetheart," losely derived from the Spanish "dueƱa." Has anyone else heard this explanation?

Also, I hear "Noble" rather than "Mobile." Anyone else?
