I set off at 17.30 for what usually takes half an hour at the most and it seems that the plod has closed the roads over every bridge for miles downstream of the dam. Talk about risk averse; nothing has happened yet! - its just like closing all the local police stations; if you can’t report a crime, it makes their crime figures look better!

The whole world was driving around minor roads trying to get somewhere/home. After sitting in a mile long queue for half an hour, at 18.30 and still 4miles from the venue, I plotted a different route and came home again.

It was just like they’d moved the M25 200 miles north and added scenery!
