My dad was C.J. Landry. He was a USN musician...stellar talent. He played the sax and clarinet but he could also play other instruments with a little practice :-). Pappy Walsh and his lovely wife, Margaret, were good friends of my dad and mother, Lorraine. We were all members of St. Pius X Catholic church and I remember many Sunday masses during which Mr. Walsh played the organ. Mrs. Walsh was wonderful to us. My mom was very ill as I was growing up (late 1950's through the 1960's) and she frequently made Italian food for us (my dad could play but he could not cook!) and was just a nice lady. During that time, the Walsh's lived just off of Halprin Drive in Norfolk in the most well-kept home in the neighborhood. We lived about a mile from them down Little Creek Road. Loved them as a child...they were just good people. Mr. Walsh frequently played for us when we were at their home...he was tons of fun. I think they missed having children of their own...would have been great parents.
