I came across this recipe which suggested using a mandolin.
Sole fillet with crispy apple scales:

    Wash and slice the apples very thinly with a mandolin. Quickly put lemon juice on the thin apple slices.
has anyone tried using a banjo, or a hammered dulcimer for cooking purposes
