A bit of advanced warning. The Bradford on Avon Carols Choir will be starting up again on Sunday 27 October. We meet at at 2pm every Sunday in the coach house behind the Swan Hotel in Bradford on Avon.

All parts will be taught ‘by ear’ so you don't need to be able to read music. What’s more it’s free to get in. Don’t worry if you can’t make every session because you don’t have to commit to attending every week.

On Saturday 7 December, the day before the pub carols start, there will be a special session with our own carols band. Bring your friends to this one in particular because even if they don’t want to learn the harmonies they can familiarize themselves with the tunes and enjoy the atmosphere of singing with the band.

After that we sing them in the pubs with the carols band on the following Sundays at 4pm:

8 December The Swan

15 December The Dog and Fox

22 December The Boathouse

The carols are not from the standard repertoire of Christmas carols, but many of them originated in the 18th or early 19th century at a time when most churches had a wooden gallery at the back where choirs, accompanied by bands of mixed instruments, led the singing.
