The press coverage of World Music for and from all over the world suffered a huge setback with the demise of fRoots magazine earlier this year. For over forty years the magazine has been powered by the relentless enthusiasm of its only owner/editor Ian Anderson. Ironically, just a few months before Ian and fRoots The 2019 International Folk Music Awards Ceremony in Montreal had awarded Ian and fRoots an 'outstanding achievement' award.
I intend to devote the entire Rocket FM World Music programme next Monday (28th October) to music that has been featured in that high quality magazine and I will include a recording of the fulsome commendation that came with the award.
