I remember regularly joining a convoy of Folkies from the Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon area. We would travel down the A61 to the Eagle on North Street ,Leeds on a sunday lunchtime.there were some great clubs in those days. including the borough Bailiff at Knaresborough, courtesy of john and Maggie Burrell et al . Harrogate theatre, Foster Beck, Grewelthorpe, Kirby Malzeard, The Blackamore at Ripon, where Roger Knowles was a regular. I was at sea a lot of the time so missed many great acts
