PLAYLIST FOR VIC SMITH’S WORLD MUSIC PROGRAMME FOR MONDAY 28th OCTOBER ON ROCKET FM 7-9 pm
The press coverage of World Music for and from all over the world suffered a huge setback with the demise of fRoots magazine earlier this year. For over forty years the magazine has been powered by the relentless enthusiasm of its only owner/editor Ian Anderson. Ironically, just a few months before the demise of the magazine, The 2019 International Folk Music Awards Ceremony in Montreal had awarded Ian and fRoots an 'outstanding achievement' award.
I intend to devote the entire Rocket FM World Music programme today to music that has been featured in that high quality magazine and I will include a recording of the fulsome commendation that came with the award.
