Recently while traveling with a friend. I was driving and singing old songs from when I was a teenager attending camp. My friend didn't seem to know any of the songs, and we are close to same age. Suddenly, she remembered a song. She pulled it up on internet and played it for me. I had never heard it, and and was struck by the sadness of the song. When it finished playing she said the song always felt like it was written about her. She was sexually abused by a much older brother for 10 years, starting at age 5. I was so utterly sad that this was the one song she remembered from attending her childhood trips to camp. It describes her, to a 'T'.
