Cesar Milan has done much to rehabilitate the image of the pitbull in particular,
and dogs in general.
It made an enormous difference when
the criminal investigation began
concerning Michael Vick and his breeding of pitbulls for dogfighting.

Cesar Milan's well-publicized work
made it possible to see the poor dogs as innocent victims
rather than as a pestilence to be eradicated,
although there are still people with that mindset.

As it is, various diseases have done for
many of the rescued Vicktory dogs,
such as the disease "babesia;"
quite a number of the rescue dogs have since died.
