Jig dolls are most certainly NOT black nor racist in UK and are simply in the usual form made of wood with jointed arms and legs ~ the musician sits on a small plank or pliable wood and by hitting the same imparts motion to the Doll whose arms and legs whirl around

There are a number of different versions and methods of construction for such dancing dolls of course

Jim Eldon's is a Marionet style that is has strings controlling from above
