Erik "Everlast" Schrody was interviewed, in 1999, by the Washington Post.
The interview states that his birthplace is Long Island, New York, although much of his life has been lived on the West Coast.
"Jump Around", in the interview, is said to date from 1992. The article says, about House of Pain, "Their shtick was Irish hip-hop -- all shamrocks and shillelagh and 'fine malt' lyrics ... Their first single, 'Jump Around,' was a huge hit."
