If you think of it in terms of "What songs are Americans who have some affinity for folk music likely to sing around a campfire", I'd say it's pretty accurate. Where I live, there'd be more John Prine ("Paradise", "Speed of the Sound of Loneliness"), more bluegrass standards, and a few songs by local singer-songwriters.
