I just learned that Joseph Shabalala, who founded Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has died, aged 78. He was the lead singer, and his voice was magical, with a tremolo quality. He and Paul Simon performed together in the Graceland concert.
I feel so very sad, as he was a delightful character.
