Hmmmmm - ‘nothing decided yet’...maybe

I have a theory, developed over fifty-plus years of observing political PR, that when they tell the hoi-polloi that ‘discussions are under way’, the deal is almost invariably already done, and the announcement that “Discussions are under way” is just a part of the softening-up process prior to announcing the deal.

And, of course, the BBC is the mouthpiece of the government, and will tell us whatever the government want us to believe.
