As I said, Maggie, it ain't the actual chlorine that matters. It's the fact that chlorine seems be be used to excuse farmers from applying good hygiene standards. And we know that good hygiene standards are part and parcel of good welfare standards. The perception here is that the US is less concerned about these things than we are and that the chlorine just provides a panacea.
