A couple of years ago an amateur group in one of the the small towns around Walsall/Wolverhampton (UK) wanted to put on Showboat in a church hall. The church watch committee (or whatever) stopped them on the grounds that it was racist! Ignorance isn't just a gift; round my way they work at it!
