I think there are lots of versions of this. 2 recorded versions I've heard are as follows-one is on Alan Lomax southern journey's series Rounder records, I believe volume 1 voices of the south. the other is brand new allison krause and some other folk on the soundtrack to " oh brother where art thou." Some of the lyrics aren't as gentle as the ones Mario offered,
