Wichita, aka "Wichi-tai-to" is only 40 miles from Winfield, where I grew up, and heard them live, in 1969, or maybe even '68........it's hard to remember when you were one toke over the line..........and I spent hours waitin in the railway staion, going back and forth to school in Lawrence, at KU.........whooo wa, those were the days, weren't they?
Oh yea, historical note here: If you are really interested, look at Ouichita, Washita, Kickapoo, Kickapoo Corral, and Kansa........
Ouichita is in AK, Washita is in OK, Kickapoo is in KS, and the Kansa tribe was the beginning of it all, pre-Coronado. Ronald LoPresti wrote a big production featuring Winfield called "Kanza"......(more than you wanted to know, right?)
