You have to have a clue that something is there to search for it, is a huge part of that FB problem, and FB isn't the logical place to search for much of this stuff.

Since I mentioned the Internet Archives I'm getting Google reminders and emails about their existence. It's a good place to store precious things like old movies, documentaries, recorded and digitized television programs, even things captured off of YouTube if it doesn't have a specific copyright to worry about.
