thanks, I've looked around a bit and I'm starting to think my search parameters must be wrong somehow. I think it may have been a fictional modern concoction of an old production, in some sort of period piece, rather than an actual old movie musical. Maybe. At least that would explain why the line doesn't appear in old versions.
