Thread Name: Streets of Manhattan (COVID19-parody)
Subject: Streets of Manhattan (COVID19-parody)
I posted this earlier on a thread Jed Marum started to discuss "The Streets of Laredo," but there have been no takers, so here's a new thread to give it some oxygen.

When Jed started that thread few of us would have envisioned the events of 2020 and the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. This week a song appeared on Facebook, a sad parody of St James Infirmary/Streets of Laredo that I would like to see added in the various places where original song lyrics and/or parodies appear. Unless one of these performers is a Mudcat member or regular guest and can post the lyrics, or someone knows them and can ask for them, they will have to be transcribed. (I didn't find lyrics in the DT.)

A friend described crying all the way through that performance and begged me to find it on YouTube so it could more easily be shared, so here it is: The Streets of Manhattan, copyright May 2020 by Jonathan Talbot and Lynette Hensley.

If there was ever a song that deserved to "go viral," this is it.
