Hi, Gibb. There's no reason to think otherwise.

There may have been no column space in 1882 for the third stanza:

Gen'el Jackson fine de trail ,
Whaw , my kingdom, fire away,
He full um fote wid cotton bale ,
Whaw my kingdom, fire away.

My best guess is that "full um fote" means "filled his fort."
