“Barnie gave the “ ‘ouse” the old jail song of ‘The Boston Burglar,’ which runs like this:

        I was brought up in Boston,
           A place you all know well,
        Brought up by hoest parents,
           And now I’ve gone to hell.
        But my character was taken,
           I had to hit the trail;
        And his honor has shoved me into jail.

“The song was none of the best.”
