Subject: RE: BS: Am I really that old???
We have to age in order to get really good at our professions and hobbies. It hit me when I turned 40 and realized that I was doing my adult work, that I was in the midst of a couple of careers, and that I wasn't waiting to find out what I was going to do with my life anymore -- I was already doing it. Now, seven years later, I am conscious of the fact that I am middle aged, and thouroughly enjoying it.

We have to age in order to be the elders of our communities. I feel like I have learned a lot and seen a lot. Every once in a while I am asked to pass some of it on. The young folks don't get asked that. I hope that continues. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I think the secret to success as an aging person is to thoroughly enjoy whatever stage of your life you are in. I suspect that is what people really mean when they talk about being young at heart. But I don't see myself as being young at heart or in any other way. I'm having too much fun being the age I am -- I'm getting older all the time and enjoying in thoroughly.
