ABCD, in Canada the preferred usage for indigenous citizens is First Nations and Inuit.

Over the years, I have observed the evolution of terms from Indian, through Native and Aboriginal (note capitalization), and First Nations is the only one widely enough accepted by the relevant people to be used for political purposes.
