Thread Name: Origins: The Foggy Foggy Dew (bachelor)
Subject: ADD Version: The Foggy Foggy Dew (bachelor)
Here's a version I heard sung by a guy named Mike Sands. Anybody know where it might be fropm?

FOGGY, FOGGY DEW

When I was a bachelor, I lived all alone
I worked at the weaver’s trade
And the only only thing I did that was wrong
Was to woo a fair young maid
I wooed her in the wintertime, and in the summer too
And the only only thing I did that was wrong
Was to keep her from the foggy foggy dew

One night she knelt close by my side
When I was fast asleep
She threw her arms around my neck
And then began to weep
She wept, she cried, she damn near died
Ah me what I could do
So jump into my bed my pretty girl I said
And I’ll keep you from the foggy foggy dew

In the beginning of the year
She grew paler in the face
And by the end of the year
She grew bigger in the waist
I never threw it up to her
Oh no, that I would never do
But every single time I heard that baby cry
I cursed the foggy foggy dew

Now again I’m a bachelor I live with my son
We work at the weaver’s trade
And every time I look into his eyes
He reminds me of that fair young maid
He reminds me of the winter, and the summer too
And of the many times I had her in my bed
Just to keep her from the foggy foggy dew.
