My new fiddle is too shiny too. It sounds great but I really must change the glare that I get from the driver's seat. If you think that's not important then you haven't tried driving this fiddle without polarized lenses. The glare prevents me from seeing the beautiful wood beneath. I have seen what a deep, revealing varnish looks like and this isn't it. Will I be able to get there??? I am experimenting with mineral oil and tripoli and rotten stone and I'm giving it a good go. So far, I see only a slight improvement. So, I may be on the right track but hours away from the desired result. If this doesn't work I'll try the 0000.....maybe.
