Thread Name: Origins: I've Got Sixpence, Jolly, Jolly Sixpence
Subject: RE: Origins: I've Got Sixpence, Jolly, Jolly Sixpence
The version I learned in the late 50s/early 60s was pretty much the same version quoted (way) above from the DT. Variations I recall include "no sexy little girls","rolling home (get drunk!), rolling home (get drunk!)" and "Happy is the day when the counselors get their pay", the latter being camp counselors.

Oddly enough, when I type "I've got six pence" in the search box, I get no DT results. Presumably because it's "sixpence" rather than "six pence".
