Seriously, it would depend on how it's played.

If played 'damped' - more of a 'clicky' sound, something like a Shure SM57 or Sennheiser E845 should work well.

If played more 'open' - more of a bass drum sound than clicks, then the old AKG D12 (if you can find a good secondhand one) is the best bet.

If it's for recording purposes, the AKG C414 would be ideal, but very expensive.

Visit your local sound hire company, and get them to show you what mics they have. Hire one for a gig or two, until you find something you like.
