We have wild native jimson weed/sacred datura that is in the same family (Convolvulaceae/morning glory) as the popular brugmansia/angel trumpet. I sent some seeds to a fellow Mudcatter in the UK and they didn't do well at all in his well-tended garden. Too wet, too cool, too dark. But that was a relatively controlled experiment.
