Joe, your description of the desert after rain sounds absolutely wonderful. How I would love to see that.

Fires: I have a sister-in-law only 10 miles from Carmel Valley, site of the River Fire. She tells me she is safe, and I have to believe her. Fortunately, I have signed up for bulletins from her local TV station, so I can keep tabs on things. The Internet can be wonderful sometimes.
