I'm no believer, but a man of the hills said to me in 1974 (in Ratagan youth hostel, which in those days was wardened by the artists John and Jan Fisher - I still have two of their paintings on my wall) that Kintail was God's own country. I went there a number of times in the mid-70s, for several weeks at a time, and climbed nearly all the Kintail peaks. That bloke knew what he was talking about.
